This week, instead of a story (or a portion of a story, or some other such nonsense), I’m unveiling a new project.
Four talented and generous voice actors (/friends of mine) agreed to record renditions of some of my stories! It was a joy to collaborate with them and hear their interpretations of my words. Truly, I was blown away by their performances. They all brought a little extra flair to the story they read and delivered really impressive readings.
This goes out to all my readers who don’t know how to read. It also goes out to those who have long cross-country drives, those who like to mountain bike in the Texas hill country, and those who have always wanted to find out if Vince Donato knows how to pronounce “foliage.”
Here are the six stories in project audiobook so far:
The Camembert’s Kitchen, read by Charlotte Gray:
In The Salt Bath, read by Diana Flores:
An Orchard, read by Zubair Umatiya:
A Starving Artist, read by Vince Donato:
Comeuppance, read by me:
Our Old House, read by me:
ps. The idea is to eventually record more of the stories on Jackson’s Distractions. If you find the urge to read one of my stories out loud for an audience, let me know!
Also, all the audio versions can be found on the corresponding story’s page, so check back on my old stories regularly for new audio versions.
